AWS Imagine Grant
An annual competitive grant of cash and AWS credits for registered nonprofits using cloud technology, open in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia and New Zealand. The 2026 round one closed on 5 June 2026.

- US awards: Pathfinder (up to US$200,000 cash plus up to US$100,000 AWS credits), Go Further, Faster (up to US$150,000 plus up to US$100,000 credits), Momentum to Modernize (up to US$50,000 plus up to US$20,000 credits)
- UK awards: Pathfinder (up to US$100,000 plus up to US$50,000 credits) and Go Further, Faster (up to US$50,000 plus up to US$16,000 credits)
- Australia and New Zealand: Go Further, Faster (up to US$75,000 plus up to US$25,000 credits)
- Canada: one award category for registered charities (amounts not confirmed)
- Technical guidance, training and marketing support from AWS
Who's eligible
United States (501(c) nonprofits; educational institutions excluded), United Kingdom (registered charities), Canada and Australia and New Zealand (active registered charity number). Not open in Ireland on the pages read.
- US: registered 501(c) nonprofit. UK: registered charity. Canada, Australia, New Zealand: active registered charity number
- A technology project using cloud, AI, machine learning or similar to advance your mission
- Pathfinder awards need generative or agentic AI as a core workload and a strong data practice
- Amazon sets the actual amounts at its sole discretion
Usually not eligible
- Educational institutions (US)
- Organisations without a registered charity status
- Projects that are not technology-driven
How to apply
- 1Read the current proposal guidelines for your country on the AWS Imagine Grant page.
- 2Check the application window. The 2026-27 US round one ran 19 March to 5 June 2026, with round one results and round two invitations on 14 July.
- 3Prepare your project idea, budget, outcomes and technical plan.
- 4Submit the application on the AWS Imagine Grant portal.
- 5If shortlisted, take part in the later review stages and, if selected, work with AWS specialists.
Typical approval time: Annual cycle with several rounds (US 2026: submissions March to June, results July).

- A written proposal with budget and timeline
- Proof of registered charity status and recent financials
- Details of your AWS use and technical plan
Tips
- This is competitive. It suits larger nonprofits with a technical team and a clear AI or cloud project, not a first project.
- Deadlines and amounts change each year. Check the live page.
- Smaller organisations can start with the AWS nonprofit credits instead.
