Terms
Terms of use
Last updated 3 October 2026
These terms cover nonprofittools.com, our AI assistant connection and our ChatGPT plugin. They are run by Kyle Behrend Pty Ltd (ACN 699 700 000, ABN 88 699 700 000), an Australian company ("we" or "us"). By using Nonprofit Tools, you agree to these terms. The short version: it's free, it's information rather than advice, and you should check important details with the vendor.
What Nonprofit Tools is
A free, independent guide to help nonprofits, charities and community groups choose software and claim nonprofit discounts. Everything here is general information. It isn't legal, financial, tax, IT security or procurement advice, and it can't take your organisation's circumstances into account. Where a decision matters, get advice from someone qualified who knows your situation.
Check the details with the vendor
We research every listing from vendors' own pricing and nonprofit pages and other public sources, using AI to help gather and check the information. Each page shows when it was last checked and how sure we are. Prices, features, nonprofit offers and eligibility rules change often, and we can get things wrong. Confirm anything you rely on with the vendor before you buy, sign up or apply. Vendors, not us, decide whether your organisation qualifies for their programmes.
Ratings are our opinion, and never for sale
Ratings, rankings and comparisons are our editorial judgement. No vendor can pay to appear higher. Some tools are made by the same company that runs this site (AI Impact Hub, Because of You and Rehomed). They are labelled "Made by us" in search results and on tool pages, and disclosed in answers to AI assistants. If we ever earn referral fees or take sponsorship, we'll label it where it appears, and it won't change how tools are ranked.
Other companies' tools and websites
We link to software and websites run by other companies. Your use of them is between you and that company, under its terms and privacy policy. We aren't responsible for their products, content, availability or how they handle your data.
Names and logos
Product names and logos belong to their owners. We show them only to identify each product, and doing so doesn't mean the owner endorses us or that we're affiliated with them. If you own a name or logo shown here and want it changed or removed, email hello@kylebehrend.com and we'll act promptly.
Vendors and tool submissions
If you submit a tool or ask us to correct a listing, you confirm that what you send is accurate and that you're allowed to share it. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish, edit and adapt it (including your logo) on Nonprofit Tools, in our emails and through AI assistants. We decide what to list and may edit, decline or remove a listing. Submitting a tool doesn't guarantee a listing or a particular position.
Using the site fairly
You're welcome to use what you find for your own organisation, share links and quote short extracts with a link back. Please don't:
- copy the directory in bulk, scrape it, or republish it as a competing list or dataset;
- access it automatically except through our AI assistant connection or plugin, and then only within its limits;
- try to overload, probe or get around the site's security or rate limits;
- submit anything unlawful, misleading or infringing; or
- enter other people's sensitive personal information into the search box.
We may limit or block access that breaks these terms.
Our content
The text, ratings, comparisons, guides and the directory as a whole belong to Kyle Behrend Pty Ltd. Vendors' own material belongs to them.
Emails
If you sign up, we'll email you what you asked for. Every email has an unsubscribe link that works the first time. How we handle your information is set out in our privacy notice.
Changes to the service
Nonprofit Tools is free, and we may change, pause or stop any part of it. We aim to keep it running smoothly but can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have by law that can't be excluded, including the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law and mandatory consumer protections where you live. It also doesn't limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Apart from those rights, the service is provided "as is", without promises beyond those the law makes for us. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss or lost profits. If we fail to meet a consumer guarantee and the law lets us limit our liability, our liability is limited to supplying the service again. For any other claim, to the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to AUD $100.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we update the date at the top. For a significant change, we'll also show a notice on the site and email subscribers at least 14 days before it takes effect. The new terms apply to your use of Nonprofit Tools from then on.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If you live in the UK or EU, you also keep the protection of your local consumer laws and can bring a claim in your local courts. If something goes wrong, please email us first: most problems are quickest to fix that way.
