What you get

  • Up to 50 per cent off subscription contracts for LinkedIn Talent, Learning and Sales solutions (everything except pay-per-click ads). Third-party guides quote 75 per cent off Sales Navigator Core and Recruiter Lite; LinkedIn's FAQ says up to 50 per cent, so ask for the current price
  • Free nonprofit content such as the Better Together virtual fireside chat series

Who's eligible

LinkedIn says it offers discounts on its software-as-a-service products in over 200 countries, but some programs may not be available in every country.

  • Hold recognised legal charitable status in your country (for example 501(c)(3) in the US)
  • Operate on a not-for-profit basis with a mission that benefits the broader community
  • Attest to LinkedIn's anti-discrimination policy, and use licences only for your own organisation's staff

Usually not eligible

  • Higher education organisations, credit unions, hospitals and governmental organisations (reported)
  • Volunteers cannot be given free products; licences can only be reassigned under your contract

How to apply

  1. 1Go to nonprofit.linkedin.com and select your country and organisation type.
  2. 2Choose the product you want (Talent, Learning, Marketing or Sales) and fill in the contact form.
  3. 3A LinkedIn nonprofit specialist reviews your needs and verifies your eligibility. They may ask for more documents.
  4. 4Review the quote, sign the contract and assign licences to eligible staff.

Typical approval time: LinkedIn says its typical response time is under 10 days.

Have these ready

  • Proof of nonprofit status for your country and a short description of your mission and impact (TechSoup validation was also mentioned in a secondary source)

Tips

  • Eligibility, once validated, stays in effect until your tax paperwork on file expires, but LinkedIn reviews records periodically.
  • The free parts of LinkedIn (Page, posts, volunteer postings) do not need the program.
