OpenAI for Nonprofits (ChatGPT discounts)
Eligible nonprofits can get ChatGPT Business seats at US$8 per user per month (billed yearly) instead of US$20, and up to 75 per cent off ChatGPT Enterprise. Verification is through Goodstack. There is no nonprofit discount on the API.

- Up to 75 per cent off ChatGPT Enterprise through OpenAI's sales team for larger nonprofits
- Business plan features such as admin controls, shared workspace and a promise that your business data is not used to train models by default (check the current OpenAI terms)
Who's eligible
OpenAI's page says '501(c)(3) designation and international equivalents'. A specific country list was not found, so treat non-US eligibility as dependent on Goodstack's country criteria.

How to apply
- 1Go to the OpenAI for Nonprofits page and choose Claim discount.
- 2Complete Goodstack's verification for your organisation.
- 3When approved, sign in or create an OpenAI account.
- 4Sign up for ChatGPT Business with at least two seats. The nonprofit price applies at checkout.
- 5Set up your workspace: invite staff, set data and sharing controls, and write a short AI use policy.
Typical approval time: Goodstack typically 1 to 3 business days.

- Registration number (searched in Goodstack's registry) and, if asked, your registration certificate or tax-exemption letter
Tips
- There is no nonprofit discount on the OpenAI API.
- The price was reported as 20 per cent off when the program launched in 2025 and is now shown as US$8 per user per month; check the live checkout price.
- Write a short policy on what staff may paste into AI tools (no donor personal data unless your plan and policy allow it).
