Vendor program
Salesforce Power of Us
Salesforce's giving program donates 10 Enterprise Edition licences to eligible nonprofits and discounts additional licences and products. New approvals are mainly given Agentforce Nonprofit (formerly Nonprofit Cloud) or Sales and Service Cloud licences. It is free to get, but setup and admin costs are real.
Official page ↗What you get
- 10 donated Enterprise Edition licences. You choose one bundle: 10 Agentforce Nonprofit (formerly Nonprofit Cloud) licences, or 10 Sales and Service Cloud licences (NPSP can be installed on the Sales and Service option)
- Discounted pricing on extra licences and some other Salesforce products
- Access to Trailhead training and the Power of Us Hub community
- Complementary discounts on Slack and Tableau (Salesforce points to TechSoup for these)
Who's eligible
Salesforce says Power of Us is open to eligible nonprofits worldwide, subject to its sanctions rules. Secondary sources list Cuba, Syria, Iran, Sudan, North Korea and mainland China as excluded, with limits for Denmark, Spain and Russia on some parts of the program; confirm on the Power of Us eligibility page.
- Be recognised as a charitable, nonprofit or non-governmental organisation in your country. In the US that means 501(c)(3) (Salesforce also lists 501(c)(4)); elsewhere an equivalent registration
- Provide your tax ID and legal documentation during the application
- Comply with Salesforce's Acceptable Use Policy
- Educational institutions can apply too (through the same program)
Usually not eligible
- For-profit companies, government bodies and political organisations
- Organisations on sanctions lists or in excluded countries
- Organisations that fail Salesforce's eligibility guidelines (Salesforce reserves the right to refuse)
How to apply
- 1Create or sign in to your Trailblazer account (use a work email).
- 2Go to the Power of Us program page and open the Power of Us Hub application.
- 3Complete the application with your tax ID and upload your legal documentation.
- 4Wait for approval. Salesforce says processing takes up to three days (secondary guides say 2 to 5 business days).
- 5Log back in to the Power of Us Hub, pick the licence bundle you want (Agentforce Nonprofit or Sales and Service Cloud) and accept the terms.
- 6Plan the setup. Many nonprofits hire a Salesforce partner or use Trailhead to configure it, because the licences are free but the configuration work is not.
Typical approval time: Up to 3 business days (Salesforce); commonly reported as 2 to 5 business days.
Have these ready
- Tax ID number (US EIN; elsewhere your registered charity number)
- US: IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter. Elsewhere: your charity registration certificate or equivalent
- A Trailblazer account (free) to log in to the Power of Us Hub
Tips
- Free licences do not mean free setup. Typical partner configuration costs range widely; budget for admin time before you commit.
- NPSP was not discontinued but is no longer getting new features. New approvals are not given a pre-configured NPSP org.
- You get 10 licences per organisation. Extra licences are discounted, not free.
- Check Salesforce's limits for your country before applying if you are outside the US, UK, Canada, Australia or New Zealand.
