Who's eligible
Zoom says 501(c)(3) nonprofits, public libraries or 'international equivalents recognised by the applicable regulator' are eligible. A UK charity listing says it applies there too. A full country list was not confirmed.
- US 501(c)(3) nonprofit, or a public library with 501(c)(3) status, or the international equivalent recognised by your regulator
- Annual operating budget of US$10 million or less
- Pass Goodstack verification
Usually not eligible
- K-12 schools and colleges (they use Zoom for Education)
- Healthcare facilities and government agencies
- 501(c)(4) and 501(c)(6) organisations
- Nonprofits with an annual budget over US$10 million
How to apply
- 1Check your budget is US$10 million or less and your charity is recognised by your regulator.
- 2Open the Zoom Cares page and click the link to verify through Goodstack.
- 3Search for your organisation and complete the verification.
- 4On approval Zoom emails you a coupon code.
- 5Sign in at zoom.us, go to Billing, enter the coupon code and choose your plan.
Typical approval time: Usually 1 to 3 business days for Goodstack.
Have these ready
- Your registration number (found in Goodstack's registry) and, if asked, your registration certificate or tax-exemption letter
Tips
- If you got a Zoom discount through TechSoup before May 2025, it remains valid until the end of your current term; you will need Goodstack to renew.
- The discount applies to annual plans, not monthly.
- Zoom's free plan is enough for many small groups; check whether you need the 40-minute limit removed before paying.
