About Telegram+

Telegram is a free messaging app with very large groups (up to 200,000 members) and broadcast channels with unlimited subscribers. Nonprofits use it to reach communities in regions where it is popular. Regular chats are not end-to-end encrypted by default (only Secret Chats are), so it is not a good place for confidential client conversations.

Pricing: Telegram says private messaging is free and will stay free, with no ads or subscription fees. Telegram offers optional paid features for individual users that I did not review.

Data & privacy+

Regular cloud chats are stored in data centres around the world and are not end-to-end encrypted by default. Only Secret Chats are end-to-end encrypted. Inactive accounts self-destruct after 18 months by default.
