Discounted processing fees for registered nonprofits in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland and many EU countries with at least 80% donation volume.

Submit Stripe's nonprofit pricing request form with your Stripe account ID, tax registration (for example an EIN or IRS letter) and confirmation that 80% or more of your volume is donations.

Great for

  • Nonprofits with a developer or website builder who want to control their own checkout
  • Organisations already using Stripe through a platform and wanting a lower rate
  • Reliable, widely supported payment processor
  • Discount for eligible nonprofits in many countries
  • Flexible for custom websites

Watch out for

  • Teams wanting a ready-made donation form with receipting and donor database
  • Organisations whose payments are mostly tickets or memberships (they miss the 80% donation rule)
  • Not a donation platform on its own: no donor CRM or automatic Gift Aid
  • The discount needs a manual application and ongoing 80% donation volume
  • Rate not published on the vendor page

About Stripe+

Stripe is the payment processor behind many donation platforms. Eligible nonprofits can apply for discounted card processing fees if most of their payments are tax-deductible donations. You can use Stripe directly with Payment Links and Checkout, or through a donation platform that uses it.

Pricing: Stripe's help page says eligible nonprofits get discounted processing fees but does not publish the rate. Third-party sources report 2.2% + 30 cents in the US instead of 2.9% + 30 cents. Eligibility: registered nonprofit with valid tax documentation, in an eligible country, and at least 80% of Stripe volume from tax-deductible donations (tickets, dues, tuition and auction payments do not count). Stripe's Australian pricing page (fetched 2 October 2026) lists domestic cards at 1.65% + A$0.30 and international cards at 3.5% + A$0.30, with no setup or monthly fees; rates differ by country. Nonprofit rate is on application and is not published.
