TechSoup New Zealand
TechSoup New Zealand is the New Zealand arm of the TechSoup Global Network, run by Connecting Up. Charities and community groups can join free and request donated and discounted software, hardware and training for an administration fee that is usually around 5 to 10 per cent of market value.

Who's eligible
New Zealand charities, voluntary and community groups. Not open to government or Crown entities or individuals.
- Have a Charities Services register number (CC number / CRN), or
- Be a not-for-profit approved for income tax exemption, shown by a Certificate of Incorporation plus an IRD exemption register match or written IRD confirmation
- Meet each donor partner's own extra rules (for example budget size or core activities)
Usually not eligible
- Government and Crown entities
- Individuals
- Organisations not on the Charities Services register that cannot show tax-exempt status
How to apply
- 1Go to techsoup.net.nz and sign up for membership as an individual.
- 2Register your organisation online. Enter your Charities Register number if you have one.
- 3If not, upload the Certificate of Incorporation and the IRD evidence listed above (or email them to support@techsoup.net.nz).
- 4Wait for qualification, then browse the product catalogue and request products for the admin fee shown.
- 5For Microsoft, register at nonprofit.microsoft.com (validation by Goodstack) and then request licences through TechSoup NZ.
- 6For Google, Canva, Zoom and similar programs, verify directly with Goodstack.

Have these ready
- Your Charities Register number if you have one
- Otherwise: a Certificate of Incorporation, plus a screenshot of your MyIR page showing your name and IRD number (checked against the IRD exemption register) or a written IRD confirmation of tax-exempt status
- If you have none of these, a letter from Charities Services may be accepted. Email documents to support@techsoup.net.nz
Tips
- If your organisation is not on the Charities Services register and cannot produce the tax documents, TechSoup NZ says it cannot qualify you for donations.
- Being qualified for donations gives automatic access to the discount program too.
