Verification partner

Goodstack (formerly Percent)

Goodstack is the verification service that many big tech companies now use to check that you are a genuine nonprofit before giving you a discount or grant. You verify once for each company's program; Goodstack checks your registration with your country's charity regulator.

What you get

  • Fast verification of your nonprofit status for Google for Nonprofits, Microsoft for Nonprofits (since August 2025), Canva, Zoom, Asana, Atlassian, DocuSign, Okta, OpenAI, Anthropic and other programs
  • A single check that the company's program applies to your type of organisation (each company decides which nonprofits it accepts)
  • No charge to nonprofits: companies pay Goodstack, not you (Goodstack's own pages do not list any fee to nonprofits)

Who's eligible

Goodstack says it verifies organisations in 240+ countries and territories, but each company decides which countries and organisation types its own program accepts. Goodstack can only verify organisations that are legally registered or recognised by a regulator or tax authority; a nonprofit that is not required to register cannot currently be verified.

  • Be recognised as a charity or nonprofit by the local regulator or tax authority where you are registered
  • Operate on a not-for-profit basis and for the public benefit
  • Have an applicant who can show they are linked to the organisation (for example a work email or an employment or volunteer letter)
  • Be in good standing with your regulator
  • Meet the extra rules of the partner program you are applying for (for example Zoom's US$10 million budget cap)

Usually not eligible

  • Organisations with no registration or regulator recognition (Goodstack says it cannot verify them yet)
  • Types of organisation that a particular partner excludes (typically government bodies, hospitals and healthcare, schools and universities, political groups and private grant-making foundations)

How to apply

  1. 1Start from the partner company's own nonprofit page (for example Google for Nonprofits, Canva, Zoom or Microsoft) and click its apply or verify button. This takes you to Goodstack.
  2. 2Search for your organisation by name or registration number and select it. If it is not listed, choose to enter it manually.
  3. 3Enter your details and your role. Use a work email address.
  4. 4Upload documents only if asked (see the documents list).
  5. 5Wait for the email. Goodstack or the partner will tell you the result and may ask for more information.
  6. 6If you are approved, return to the partner's site or follow the link in the email to claim the discount, then repeat the process for the next company (verification is usually per program).

Typical approval time: Goodstack says applications are typically approved within 1 to 3 business days, sometimes within hours. Google quotes 2 to 14 business days for Google for Nonprofits and Microsoft quotes up to 3 to 7 business days.

Have these ready

  • Usually nothing: you search for your organisation in Goodstack's registry of regulator data and confirm it
  • If your organisation is not found: an official registration certificate, tax-exemption letter or register extract (PDF, original, unredacted)
  • To prove you are linked to the organisation: one organisation-produced document (for example board minutes, bylaws, a signed employment or volunteer confirmation letter, dated more than 30 days ago) and ideally one bank statement (original electronic PDF, dated more than 30 days ago)
  • Country exceptions where a government document is accepted as proof of association: Australia (ACNC Certificate of Registration, ATO DGR endorsement letter or Certificate of Incorporation), Canada (Corporation Information Sheet), United States (EIN verification letter, not the determination letter), Singapore and Nigeria (Certificate of Incorporation)

Tips

  • Make sure your organisation's details on your country's charity register are up to date before you apply. Most delays come from mismatched names, addresses or numbers.
  • A rejection is often about the partner's rules, not about your charity status. Read the partner's eligibility guidelines.
  • Goodstack checks the applicant as well as the organisation, so apply with a work email address rather than a personal one if you can.
  • Documents must be original PDFs with your organisation's legal name. Scans and redacted copies are rejected.
  • Goodstack has a help centre at help.goodstack.org with a 'what is the status of my application' article.
