About Chatbase+

Chatbase lets you build an AI agent that learns from your website pages, PDFs and other documents, then answers visitors' questions on your site, in a help desk or on channels such as WhatsApp. It is aimed at small teams who want a chatbot working within an afternoon without writing code. It has a free plan for testing, but no published nonprofit discount.

Pricing: Free plan: 50 message credits a month, 1 agent, limited models, and agents are deleted after 14 days of inactivity. Hobby US$40/month (700 credits), Standard US$150/month (4,000 credits, helpdesk, voice, API), Pro US$500/month (15,000 credits). Annual billing is 20% cheaper. Removing the 'Powered by Chatbase' badge costs an extra US$99/month. Enterprise is custom.

The product is an AI agent built on large language models from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Google. It answers using your own content (retrieval) rather than the open internet.

Data & privacy+

Chatbase says it does not use customer data to train models and that its model providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Google) are not opted in to use it for training. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest and hosted on AWS. The security page lists SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliance, and a data processing agreement is offered to enterprise customers. We could not confirm a choice of data region.
