Nonprofits that qualify for Google Workspace for Nonprofits get the Gemini app and Gemini Notebook (NotebookLM) at no cost for up to 2,000 users, with enterprise data protections. The free plan includes Deep Research for source-backed reports, Gems (custom assistants), Canvas, image generation and Gemini Live. Paid nonprofit editions add Gemini inside Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Meet at up to 75% off.

Pricing: The Gemini app, Deep Research, Gems and NotebookLM are included in the no-cost Workspace for Nonprofits plan for up to 2,000 users. Paid nonprofit editions start from US$3.50 per user per month (Business Standard) and US$6.16 (Business Plus), with Gemini inside Workspace apps on those editions. Enterprise editions have no user cap. Check which Gemini features your edition includes.

Data & privacy+

Google states that Workspace does not use customer data for training models without the customer's prior permission, that user prompts are customer data under the Cloud Data Processing Addendum, and that there is no human review of interactions for model training. Gemini follows your existing Workspace permissions. Retention is admin-controlled: Gemini in Workspace from 90 days to indefinite, and the Gemini app up to 36 months. Google lists SOC 1/2/3, ISO 27001, 27701, 27017, 27018 and ISO/IEC 42001, plus FedRAMP High; the nonprofit help page also cites GDPR and HIPAA. Data residency settings should be checked in your Workspace admin console.
